Paddling
Please note that paddling organised by the club is currently suspended as we no longer have a qualified coach. If you are a paddle coach/instructor and is interested in helping out then please get in touch!

Come along and experience the beauty of Snowdonia from a new perspective including paddling tidal estuaries at Barmouth & Porthmadog as well as the surrounding lakes and rivers. The paddling section provides the opportunity to learn new water skills in a safe, fun and social environment in the hands of our qualified coaches.

Kayaking and canoeing is open to all MYC members of 8 years and over. If you are not already a member you can come along three times to try the activities out before joining the club. A degree of water confidence is however required as you will get wet at some point. All kayaks, canoes and associated paddling and safety equipment can be provided so there is no need to have your own kit. Clothing suitable for the conditions of the day will be required. If you need advice we can assist.

Kayaking and canoeing is available all year around weather and tides permitting. In the summer months we have a regular Wednesday evening paddle mainly at Barmouth and Borth-Y-Gest whilst in the winter we offer a regular Monday evening pool session at Harlech to continue skill development in paddling, swimming and the use of safety equipment.

Contact us if you would like to arrange a taster session.
Whilst paddling from Borth-y-Gest one evening one of our paddlers took this great footage of us enjoying a beautiful evening. This really illustrates the incredible surroundings that we have the privilege to paddle in.
