As the summer is now in full swing, it is a perfect time to remind yourselves about water safety. We have created a page (HERE) which links you to the experts. No matter whether you are in Barmouth for a day on the beach or an experienced water sports person, there is something for you.
Please remember that Barmouth does not have lifeguards and any water can be dangerous. Doing a little reading can save your life.
Spend 30 minutes and understand what to do in a rip tide.
Do not use inflatables in the sea.
If you are on any kind of water craft understand what buoyancy aid / life jacket you need.
If you are swimming, know about Cold Water Shock. Yes even in summer.
Know the tides and the weather forecast.
Be prepared. Have the right kit ........ consider food, water, caps and sun cream.
Always have a method to hand that enables you to call for help.
If you see anyone in trouble call 999 and ask for the Coast Guard.
